Sexual harassment includes a range of actions from mild transgressions to sexual abuse or assault. To this day, sexual harassment raises the question of consent. According to data published by Ipsos in 2018, nearly 30 percent of Belgian respondents agreed that nearly all instances of sexual harassment would end if the woman simply told the man to stop.
Furthermore, 36 percent of men believed that clear verbal opposition could have an impact on the number of sexual harassment instances. Although the notion of consent is a source of discord, this survey helps to better understand beliefs that people can hold on such matters.
