Annual revenue of Coolblue 2013-2023

In 2023, Dutch online retailer Coolblue saw its revenue reach 2.4 billion euros, up from 250 million in 2013. In addition, the electronics retailer recovered from the previous year's net loss of 6.2 million euros, by registering a profit of nearly 27 million euros in 2023. In the period under consideration, 2022 marks the first year the Dutch e-tailer registers losses since 2013.

Coolblue is one of the largest online stores in the Netherlands and Belgium. Based in Rotterdam, where it was founded in 1999 by Pieter Zwart, Coolblue is a Dutch e-commerce company offering electronics and hardware products. With over 5,000 employees, the Dutch e-tailer currently operates in the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany. In addition to its web shop, Coolblue has 25 brick-and-mortar stores in its operating region.

Among Europe's leading consumer electronics retailers, Coolblue stands tenth, behind industry heavyweights such as German-based Ceconomy and UK-based Dixons Retail. Within a highly competitive electronics market in Europe, Ceconomy remains on top, with almost ten billion euros in revenues generated in Germany in 2021/22. Ceconomy AG is headquartered in Dusseldorf, Germany, and owns well-known electronics stores Saturn and MediaMarkt.
