As of 2023, 46 percent of Italians believed that immigrants constitute a threat to public order and safety. Moreover, for one third of the respondents, immigrants could endanger national culture and identity. For around 30 percent of the interviewees, they were a danger to employment, too. Over the years, the share of Italians stating that immigrants pose a threat to public safety increased.
