Share of women undergoing cervical cancer screening in Italy 2008-2022
Between 2008 and 2022, the share of women aged between 25 and 64 years undergoing cervical cancer screening during the previous three years in Italy increased overall. In 2019, the share of women undertaking tests able to diagnose cervical cancer was equal to approximately 81 percent, the highest figure recorded during the period under consideration. In 2022, however, this percentage totaled 77.8 percent. The age group 25 to 64 is the one for which it is recommended for women to do a cervical cancer screening every three years. This figure shows the share of women undergoing cervical cancer screening in the previous three years in Italy from 2008 to 2022.
