This statistic shows the total number of apartments in Flanders, Wallonia and the Brussels Capital Region (Belgium) in 2005 and 2017. Between 2005 and 2017, approximately 367,000 apartments were newly constructed in the country of Belgium. In all three regions, the numbers increased but with varying speed. This is due to two developments: the size decrease of households and the increasing residential property prices. Consequently, the total number of building permits increased as well.
