The source does not provide a publication date. The given is the date accessed. To calculate the average price for five-star hotels, data was collected from hotels and online aggregators including for a range of stays over the period May 1 to December 29, 2014.
Room rates were also calculated by averaging the median prices for one, two and four people to stay in one, two, three and four star hotels over a range from May 1 to December 29, 2014.
Hostel prices were calculated by averaging the price of a single bed in a shared dorm in each city during a high season period (December 26 to 29, 2014) and a low season period (October 6 to 9, 2014).
