In 2022, total military equipment exports from Norway continued to increase and reached a record-high 4.6 billion Norwegian kroner. Weapons and weapon parts were the type of weapon that reached the highest export value at over 2,1 billion kroner, followed by bombs and grenades at 1,8 billion kroner. The increase is partly explained by military support to Ukraine after the Russian invasion of the country in 2022. The largest recipient of Norwegian military equipment in 2022 was Qatar, followed by Ukraine.
