Gender gap index in Costa Rica 2016-2024

In 2024, Costa Rica scored 0.79 in the gender gap index, which shows a gender gap of approximately 21 percent (women are 21 percent less likely than men to have equal opportunities). The overall gender gap score is an increase from the 0.78 reported in 2022, which shows a slight improvement towards gender equality. Moreover, Costa Rica was the Latin American country with the one of the best gender gap index.
