This accounted for approximately 79 percent of the total global energy supply that year. However, it is forecast in a 1.5 degrees Celsius scenario that the global primary energy supply from fossil fuels will decrease to just 100 exajoules in 2050, while renewable energy would account for approximately 480 exajoules of the world's energy supply.
