Share of consolidated retail in the grocery retail sector in MENA by country 2017
This statistic illustrates the share of organized retail chains in the overall grocery retail of the Middle East and North Africa in 2017, by country. During the surveyed period, grocery retail chains such as hyper and supermarkets made up 49 percent of the overall grocery retail in Qatar. Comparably organized grocery chains in Egypt accounted for only one percent of the grocery retail during the same time period.
