Demand for electric vehicles is increasing
Around 1.5 million plug-in electric vehicles were sold in the United States in 2023. This sales volume is forecast to keep growing, amounting to some 156.3 billion U.S. dollars in revenue in 2029. Improvements in technology and investment in infrastructure are among the reasons why consumer concerns about battery life and a lack of charging points are being quashed.
Tesla in pole position
Tesla has a firm grip on the electric vehicle market in the United States. The Tesla Model Y is the best-selling all-electric car in the United States. However, competition within the market is predicted to intensify over the next few years as established brands such as Chevrolet and Ford as well as new electric vehicle makers such as Rivian and Lucid Motors all attempt to take some market share away from Tesla.
