In 2023, 1,851 merger and acquisition deals were completed in Germany. This figure represents a decline compared to the previous years, but is in line with the average registered in the past 30 years. Mergers & acquisitions are corporate takeovers or mergers. It is a collective term for corporate transactions in which companies merge or change ownership. As a rule, such a takeover takes place by way of a company purchase.
