The value of domestic merger and acquisitions (M&A) transactions in Italy reached 12.1 billion U.S. dollars in 2019, while cross-border M&As reached a value of 35.3 billion U.S. dollars. For both domestic and cross-border transactions it was forecast that merger and acquisition values will decrease in 2020 in Italy, reaching a value of 11.4 billion U.S dollars and 27.9 billion U.S dollars, respectively. In the following years, however, this figures are expected to increase.
