The military spending as percentage of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of Brazil oscillated between 1.1 percent and 1.5 percent from 2007 to 2023. In 2023, the military expenditure reported by Brazil accounted for approximately 1.07 percent of the country's GDP, a small decrease compared to a year earlier.

Furthermore, Brazil featured one of the largest number of active military personnel in Latin America altogether.
