This statistic illustrates the sources of online traffic reaching real and fake news websites in Italy in 2016. According to source, real news websites had higher organic search traffic and direct traffic, while fake news websites had 63.8 percent of their traffic coming from social networks, overrating by far real news websites whose social traffic was about 13 percent.
