According to data, Emilia-Romagna was the Italian region with the highest share of hotel rooms in the country (13.7 percent), followed by Trentino-South Tyrol (roughly 11 percent). Trentino-South Tyrol is an autonomous region in Northern Italy. Since the 1970s, most legislative and administrative powers have been transferred to the two self-governing provinces that make up the region: Trentino and South Tyrol.
