In 2021, the North East was the Italian macro-region with the highest number of beds in hotel establishments. That year, the number of hotel beds in this area reached roughly 777 thousand, dropping from around 794 thousand in 2019. Meanwhile, hotels in the Center of Italy recorded the second-highest figure in 2021, with approximately 452 thousand beds.
