Leading factors influencing the construction industry in the Netherlands 2017

This statistic shows the answers to a survey question on the leading factors believed to influence the construction industry the most in the Netherlands as of 2017. As of 2017, 93 percent of the respondents indicated that the job market had the most important impact on the construction industry. Over two thirds of the respondents answered that technology had an important influence on their activities in 2017. Like the rest of Europe, the construction sector in the Benelux struggles to keep up with the high demand. The total number of building permits issued for new houses in Belgium in 2016, for example, was 8,000 permits less than in 2006. Indeed, the confidence indicator of the construction sector in Belgium was more negative in August 2017 than its European counterpart.
