In Portugal, imports of orthopedic appliances (crutches/surgical belts, and truss) were valued at approximately 287 million euros in 2021. This figure rose to more than 337 million euros in 2023. The import value of spectacles, goggles, etc. was almost 74 million euros in 2023, while breathing appliances and gas masks were imported at a value of 4.2 million euros in the same year.
