This statistic illustrates the distribution of the value of mergers and acquisitions in Italy in 2019, broken down by industry. According to data, M&A deals in the energy and utilities sector accounted for 21 percent of the total. Approximately the same value was covered by deals in the financial services sector. The consumer markets followed, accounting for 19 percent of the total value of M&A deals in Italy in 2019. The technology, media and telecommunication sector represented only nine percent of M&A deals in terms of value.
