Cash vs non-cash payments in Europe 2017, by type of expense
The statistic displays the finding of a 2017 survey that questioned the use of cash in today's society for paying expenses across thirteen countries in Europe as well as the United states and Australia. Cash is still the main form of payment when it comes to buying lunch/coffee/snacks with 67 percent of respondents using cash as to 25 percent that use non-cash methods. Utilities on the other hand saw 83 percent of respondents using non-cash methods for bills as to 12 percent using cash for the same expense.
