Menarini is one of the  leading Italian pharmaceutical companies. The earnings generated by the firm steadily increased over time. In 2023, Menarini’s revenue peaked at 4.38 billion euros, most of which coming from pharmaceutical sales.

Menarini entered the pharmaceutical business in 1886. The company launched the first internationalization initiative in 1964 by opening a lab in Barcelona. In 1978 implemented a research and development (R&D) division. The firm consolidated its international presence in the 1990s. In 2003, Menarini opened a biotech division and in 2011 established itself as a key player in the Asia-Pacific markets by acquiring the Invida Group.

In 2018, Menarini was one of the pharmaceutical companies with the best reputation, in the eyes of the Italian public. The company is also well-known at a global level, since most of its revenues come from abroad, with 79 percent.
