As of December 31, 2018, the renowned French tire manufacturer Michelin had a workforce of more than 9,000 employees working in its main manufacturing sites in France. The largest of which, Cataroux, in the Clermont-Ferrand, had a workforce of almost 2.000 people. Cholet, close to the western coast of France, was also one of the main manufacturing sites in the country. In 2018, nearly 1,300 people were employed by Michelin in that site.
