The average price per square meter of retail space in Italy in 2023 varied in different macro-regions, with the North-West macro-region measuring the highest price in the country, at 1,611 euros. North-East Italy ranked second, with an average price of 1,534 euros per square meter. Conversely, the lowest price for a retail space was found on the Islands (Sardinia and Sicily), where it cost on average 1,147 euros per square meter.

It should be noted that in this Report the analyses do not contain data on stock and real estate transactions for the municipalities of the autonomous provinces of Trento (176 municipalities) and Bolzano (116 municipalities), Veneto (4 municipalities), Lombardy (2 municipalities) and Friuli Venezia Giulia (43 municipalities) where the system of land registers (or table system) for real estate advertising applies.
