Get in touch with us nowIn 2023, Peru's copper mines produced 2.76 million metric tons of metal, an increase from 2.45 million metric tons from the previous year. Amidst lockdown measures and contact restrictions implemented to slowdown the spread of the coronavirus, copper mines in the country had their activities suspended or severely reduced in 2020, recording an output below 2019 levels throughout the year. Nevertheless, Peru remained the second largest copper producing country in 2023, ranking only behind neighboring Chile.
