Crude oil was the most imported type of fuel in Chile in 2021, by volume. Crude oil imports that year amounted to 93.57 petacalories, and represented over a quarter of the total volume of fuel imports at that time. Coal followed as the second most imported fuel, with a volume of 83.98 petacalories. By comparison, gasoline was the least imported fuel type, with some 9.5 petacalories.
