The annual number of new passenger car sales dropped by 25.5 percent year-over-year amid the COVID-19 pandemic, and has struggled to recover in 2021. The PSA Group was the best-selling automaker in 2020, with around 531,000 passenger cars sold that year. Its eponymous brand Peugeot made up 56.9 percent of its sales volume that year.
