This statistic displays the estimated percentage of Canadians aged 12 years and over who reported being diagnosed with diabetes as of 2016, by income quintile. In that year, around 9.2 percent of Canadians in the lowest income quintile reported that they had been diagnosed by a health professional as having diabetes, compared to 4.9 percent of those in the highest income quintile.
