Blu Hotels was the leading domestic hotel chain brand in Italy based on the number of establishments, with 29 hotels in the country. That year, Apogia Hotels Beach and Unahotels followed in the ranking, with 28 and 26 establishments, respectively. 

What are the leading international hotel chain brands in Italy?

When looking at international hotel chain brands in Italy, one company stood out in 2023: Best Western. Overall, Best Western recorded both the highest number of establishments among international hotel chain brands in Italy and the highest number of hotel rooms. Other leading brands were B&B, NH Hotels, and Mercure Hotel. 

Three-star hotels are the most numerous in the country

In 2022, three-star hotels were the most common type of hotel in Italy, with over twice as many establishments as four-star hotels. That year, the number of beds in three-star hotels in Italy totaled roughly 885 thousand.
