The total amount of funds raised through donation-based and reward-based crowdfunding on alternative finance platforms in Italy increased steadily between 2016 and 2021. In six years, the amount of funds raised increased by almost 500 percent. As of 2021, the total amount of funds collected through these types of crowdfunding campaigns amounted to 52.2 million euros.
