This timeline depicts the total number of euro coins of all denominations issued by the Bank of Italy from 2006 to 2016. Over the period of consideration, sizeable fluctuations in the total amount of euro coins were to be seen, with a peak of 832 million coins as of 2008 and with an all-time low in 2013, when only 250 million coins were introduced. As of 2016, the number of newly released euro coins added up to 559 million units.
