This statistic shows the distribution of total revenue from the "Specialty Chemicals" business area of AkzoNobel in 2016, by end-user segment. AkzoNobel is a major producer of specialty chemicals with an emphasis on markets of functional chemicals, industrial chemicals, pulp and performance chemicals and surface chemistry. As of 2016, the largest part of the revenue in the Chemical Production business area was generated in products for the industrial market: 45 percent of the revenue was generated here. Another important end-segment market for the chemical production of AkzoNobel was that of consumer goods with 28 percent of total revenue being reached here.
