This statistic shows the number of digital video users in Germany in 2016, broken down by gender and age group. The number of male users aged 25 to 34 years amounted to 1.82 million. By comparison, the number of female users of the same age group amounted to 1.19 million.

Digital videos are defined as moving-picture-content distributed through online media also knows as VoD (Video-on-Demand). These include three basic business models: time restricted single borrowing of professionally produced movies, series or shows (Transactional VoD (TVoD)); subscription to a streaming site e.g. Netflix with unlimited access to video content for the duration of the subscription(Subscription VoD); single purchases of movies or series in form of direct download (Electronic-Sell-Through EST).
Advertisement videos or amateur videos were not included.
The digital video market thus includes Pay-per-view (TVoD); Video subscription (SVoD and video download (EST).
