As of 2023, approximately 10.2 percent of Brazilian adults had been diagnosed with diabetes. By gender, when asked if they were diagnosed with this metabolic disorder, around 11 percent of female respondents answered affirmatively, up from about 9.6 percent of the women surveyed two years prior. This figure was higher than the share of male adults who claimed to have diabetes mellitus in Brazil, which totaled roughly nine percent in 2023.
