The total number of international tourist arrivals in Italy increased in 2023 over the previous year, but remained below the figures reported before the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. After declining to under 40 million with the onset of the health crisis, total inbound tourist arrivals in the country, including overnight and same-day visitors, reached 85.7 million in 2023.
