* The contractual eligible for the exceptional session of the 2013-2014 competitions were not counted in the number of teachers (public and private sectors) in the 2014 edition of the RERS.

As of 2011, the island of Mayotte is included in the data.

The source adds the following information:
"Since 2006, no longer counted persons paid on regularization advance accounts (some of the teachers in Greta, for example), nor the technicians and workers in charge of local authorities. In 2008, the staff of institutions having acquired their autonomy in higher education were not taken into account."
"Starting in 2010, trainee officials are counted with public or first-degree teachers."
"Teachers in the private sector under contract only, those in the private sector out of contract are not paid by the MEN."
