In 2022, the number of individuals with a recognized degree of disability equal to or greater than 33 percent in Spain amounted to close to four million people. Around 40 percent of the total, or around 1.4 million, were aged between 35 and 64, making it the age group with the highest number of individuals with a recognized impairment. That year, the recognized disability with the highest number of individuals in Spain was osteoarticular disability
