Roughly 19 percent of Brazilian respondents who had eight years or less of formal education reported to have been physically inactive in 2023. This share was over 11 percent among respondents in the South American country with 12 or more years of education.

*Survey was carried out in the capital city of each of the 26 Brazilian states, plus the Federal District of Brasília.
According to the source, physically inactive individuals were those who did not practice any physical activity during the past three months, including making intense physical efforts at work, going to work or school on foot or by bicycle for a minimum of 10 minutes per trip per day, and doing intense physical activity while cleaning their homes.
