Italy: public awareness of cured meat production 2017, by gender
This statistic depicts the results of a survey conducted in Italy between August 1 and September 4, 2017. During the survey, individuals were asked to state whether they were aware or not of the existence of cured meat products derived from sustainable farming practices (e.g. no intensive livestock farming and no use of antibiotics as feed additives), broken down by gender. As of the survey period, it was found that 74 percent of female respondents knew about this type of products that take care of animals' welfare, while a large proportion of men (57 percent) were not aware.
