According to a survey carried out in Spain in 2024, the main reason for not using contraceptives among women in Spain was with the purpose of having children. This was the case for nearly a fourth of respondents. Not being sexually active was the second most common reason, followed by the inability to have children, as stated by 22.5 and 11.4 percent of women interviewed, respectively. Based on the same survey, that year the most used contraceptive method in the European country was condoms.
