Italy: consumption of cured meat 2017, by age group
This statistic illustrates the results of a survey conducted in Italy between August 1 and September 4, 2017. During the survey, individuals were asked to indicate which kind of cured meat they used to purchase more often, sorted by age group. As of the survey period, 60 percent of the Millennials- young people aged between 18 and 35 years- declared to buy deli meats that were cut directly in the supermarkets, whereas only 20 percent of them stated to buy already-packaged cold cuts. Conversely, a large proportion of the respondents aged 35 and over (39 percent) had the habit to buy both already-packaged products and in-store sliced meats.
