This statistic illustrates the distribution of bookstores in Italy in the period from 2006 to 2014, ranked by retail channel. According to the study, the share of bookstore chains increased in the selected period, growing from 30.4 percent in 2006 to 49 percent in 2014. By contrast, the share of independent bookstores decreased from over 67 percent of total bookstores in 2006 to about 47 percent in 2014.
