This statistic presents the percentage of Spaniards who trusted in the correct use of their data by institutions and data collectors during 2015, by type of company or institution. 32 percent of the respondents stated that they trusted financial institutions regarding the handling of their private data, ahead of social media, which was only regarded trustworthy by 14 percent of the participants.

The source asked the question in the following way: "Wie groß ist Ihr Vertrauen in die nachstehenden Organisationen und Einrichtungen bezüglich der Nutzung Ihrer persönlichen Daten?".
* The study consisted of two phases:
- Qualitative study with four discussion groups between six and eight people (July 2015)
- Quantitative study through CATI interview (August and September 2015)

France: n = 1,018
Germany: n = 1,216
Ireland: n = 1,009
Italy: n = 1,000
