Employees in internal R&D biotechnology activities Spain 2009-2020
In 2020, the number of employees working in internal R&D activities in biotechnology in Spain amounted to around 30 thousand, up from 29.6 thousand workers reported a year prior. This figure showed an upward trend since 2009, when the number of employees performing biotech-related R&D activities in the European country totaled about 22 thousand people. In the last year featured, Spanish companies allocated more than 897 million euros to research and development in biotechnology-related activities.
