R&D spending on biotech activities made by companies in Spain 2009-2020
In 2020, internal investment in research and development for biotech-related activities amounted to over two billion euros in Spain. That year, R&D spending on biotech activities made by companies in the European country reached around 897.3 million euros, down from approximately 940.23 million euros reported a year earlier. Although this represents a decrease of almost 43 million euros compared to 2019, Spanish businesses increased R&D expenditure on biotechnology-related activities by nearly 76 percent during the analyzed period.
