Public health expenditure as a share of GDP in Spain 2021, by region
In 2021, Extremadura stood as the Spanish autonomous community with the highest public health expenditure relative to its GDP, which amounted to almost 10 percent. Canarias ranked second, spending around 9.1 percent of its GDP on public health. Meanwhile, Madrid reported a public health expenditure per capita of about 1,536 euros that same year.
