The floorspace devoted to food an beverages in Spanish supermarkets increased over the analyzed period of time and reached approximately 8.9 million square meters in 2019. Hypermarkets, however, saw its floorspace decrease during this period, with its floorspace devoted to food and beverage at 904.6 thousand square meters in 2019.
