In 2013, the average Spaniard consumed 0.34 kilos of fresh trout, a volume that gradually declined until 2015. In that year, the per capita consumption of fresh trout recorded its highest figure with 0.35 kilograms. In 2021 this figure further decreased to 0.21 kilograms.
