In 2021, the expenditure of the National Health System on prescribed medicines delivered in pharmacies in Spain amounted to more than 11.7 billion euros, up from around 11 billion euros reported a year earlier. In 2010, the National health system expenditure on prescribed medicines in pharmacies in the country peaked at over 12 billion euros.
