Construction costs for civil engineering projects reached a peak in 2023. Between 2011 and 2020, the index fluctuated between 89 and 92. However, the value of the index in 2023 reached 116 index points. The cost of erecting a building and the total construction costs for the industry as a whole also increased that year.

The cost of labor comprises the sum of gross wages and salaries and social contributions. Meanwhile, intermediate consumption in the construction sector comprises the cost of raw materials and materials, the cost of energy and the cost of miscellaneous expenditure.
